Billings Public Library Foundation’s Banned Book Scavenger Hunt

Billings Public Library Foundation’s Banned Book Scavenger Hunt

What better way to celebrate Banned Book week (September 25-30, 2017) than with a Banned Book Scavenger Hunt, put on by the Billings Public Library Foundation? The BPL Foundation aims to draw awareness to the importance of libraries and the freedom to read with this Scavenger Hunt for the community – with a Grand Prize of two VIP tickets to the Foo Fighters!

The Details:

  • Five well-known banned books will be covered in black paper and placed in locations throughout Billings.
  • Anyone who wants to participate can go to the Facebook pages of the Library Foundation, Billings Public Library, or Yellowstone Public Radio to get clues about the locations. Be sure to check the Library Foundation’s Facebook page daily for new clues.
  • If you figure out the location and find the book, take your picture with it and post it on the Library Foundation’s Facebook page. The book is yours to take.

There will be prizes for people who collect all five books!  The Grand Prize is two VIP tickets to the Foo Fighters concert on December 9, 2017.  Additional prizes will be an autographed poster of Neil Gaiman and assorted gift cards.

The Billings Public Library Foundation is dedicated to promoting the importance of our public library and raising vital funds to provide the margin of excellence for the Billings Public Library.  For more information about the Banned Book Scavenger Hunt or how you can support the Library Foundation, contact Leslie Modrow at leslie@billingslibraryfoundation.org.
