Homemade Lavender Sea Salt Scrub

Simply Amanda January 10, 2012 0

I have seen countless recipes for homemade scrubs and finally decided to give one a try.  Now I’m hooked!  On of my favorite blogs, Centsational Girl, recently posted her recipe for Lavender Sea Salt Scrub.  I was surprised at the simple ingredients:

18 oz course sea salt

18 oz fine sea salt

4 fluid oz grapeseed oil

1/2 fluid oz essential oil

dried lavender buds

That is it!  I had all of these products at home except for the essential oil which I bought at the Good Earth Market for $12.  The salt I already had purchased from Wal-Mart and I used the Natural Grapeseed Oil from Wildtree.

The final result was 32 ounces of lovely sea salt scrub.  I used four half-pint canning jars for the containers so the cost per container was $3.  If I were to purchase all the ingredients, I would estimate the cost at about $6 a container.  It sure is much cheaper than buying salt scrub from a boutique and what a wonderful gift idea!

Centsational Girl provided some beautiful square labels for the jars.  I also enjoy the round labels here that attach to the top of the lids.
